Do You Have the Right Horse?

0516_02

The May NWC DVD is all about selecting the right horse and evaluating the partnership you have with your current horse. The greatest decision you’ll make as a horseman is the horse you choose to partner with. “Your horse determines how much enjoyment you get out of being a horse owner and whether or not you stay safe. In my opinion, the greatest epidemic taking place in the horse world today is the chronic mismatching of horses and riders. Too many people buy a horse that is completely wrong for them. The horse is too athletic, too sensitive, doesn’t have enough training, has no desire to do the rider’s chosen discipline … and on and on and on,” Clinton says. “I’m convinced that the horse industry could be 10 times bigger than what it is if people would actually buy the right horse for them and were honest about the type of horse they need at any given time in their journey as a horseman. As you’re about to see, it’s a topic I’m extremely passionate about. This month’s DVD is all about the subject of partnering with the right horse at each stage of your horsemanship journey and being a responsible horse owner.”
